Christine Nelson

Assistant Coach

Nelson joins the Cavalier staff from Yelm (Washington) High School, where she has been a teacher and coach for the last eight years. She has been Yelm's head volleyball coach since arriving at the school, and has also served as a junior varsity girls basketball and C boys basketball coach while at the school. In addition to summer camp experience in both sports, Nelson also has coaching experience in softball, soccer, and track and field.

The new CU assistant graduated from Pacific Lutheran University, where she received her BA in Physical Education, with a minor in history. Nelson earned her Master's in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.


Darcy Madison

Assistant Coach

Originally from Seattle, Wash., Darcy Madison joins the Cavalier women's basketball coaching staff after graduating from CU in 2007 with a degree in secondary education/physical education. A two-year basketball player for the Cavs during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons, Madison was the team's leading scorer and captain as a senior. After graduating, Madison coached high school basketball at Evergreen High School in Vancouver, Wash., where she currently resides. Both parents are Concordia graduates and former basketball players for the Navy and White.

Colby Matney

Assistant Coach

Colby Matney returns for his second stint as a Concordia coach after being a member of the 2001-02 men's staff. A 1995 graduate of CU, Matney continued his education as a graduate assistant at the University of Nevada, where he received a M.S. in physical education in 1998. Matney has coached overseas in Germany as well as in New York as an assistant coach at Columbia University from 2005-07. A certified strength and conditioning specialist, Matney served in that capacity at the University of Portland from 1999-2000
